In the last days of April 2009 almost 100 people gathered in Kaliningrad to discuss all issues concerning the shareware development.

Spring conferences develop their own pattern. No long presentations - just brief announcements from the moderators which were widely discussed by all the participants. The key topic of the conference was how to live, work and move on during the world crisis. The issues touched upon how the current situation affected the developers as well as the companies associated with the shareware business.

The conference members reached a conclusion that the Fall 2009 (the time to hold the next ISDEF conference) will reveal either the definite signs of the stabilization and activity on the market, or ... The «or» variant invoked no enthusiasm in the audience.

ISDEF Spring 2009 Conference was supported by the sponsors. The long-standing partners of the conference — Digital River, Softkey, Microsoft, Nokia, Femida.US and Avangate — were joined by PayPro Global. One would think there can be nothing new after all these years of cooperation, but the sponsors' stands were not empty all through the conference.

This conference included a vast number of cultural events. For the most of the participants it was their first trip to Kaliningrad. That is why morning tours around the city were very popular as they proved to be a wonderful addition to the panel sessions and workshops. ISDEF members suggested that the next conference should be held either in Minsk, or St.Petersbug, or Prague. The format proves to be viable.
